FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITIES
Yearbook Advertising - Player Sponsorship (Travel & Local Teams) This is the best way for players to earn money to offset club fees. 90% of the advertising dollars will go directly into a player's account, giving each girl the opportunity to make back every penny of their fees. Simply download a copy of the "Yearbook Advertising Form", approach potential advertisers (local businesses, family and friends), send in the completed form along with the advertiser's check, and your next monthly invoice will show the credit earned with your remaining balance. Yearbooks will be given out to all members of the club (local and travel team participants), coaches, and advertisers as well. The deadline to sell ads is March 1st, 2008 for local players and May 1st, 2008 for travel players, at which point all forms, checks, and ads must be collected. O.V.A. Discount Cards (Travel & Local Teams) Last year many O.V.A. players & parents were hard at work getting local businesses to participate in our annual discount card fundraiser. Thanks to their persistence and the generosity of our card sponsors, we now have discount cards to sell as a fundraiser for both local and travel players! The 2008 O.V.A. Discount Card offers discounts and special offers to 16 different business around town (mostly restaurants). Players can check out a maximum of 10 cards at a time, just email Emily Riley at emily@oregonvolleyballacademy.com. Use the Card Sale Tracking Sheet form below to track your sales. Turn in the completed form, money and any unsold cards to Emily Riley prior to March 1st (local players) or May 1st (travel players). The money you earn will be directly applied to your player account, offsetting your club dues. Once you sell 10 and form/money is collected, you can check out another 10 and keep on going! Each card sells for $10 and is issued to one person only (not a whole family), good for the entire 2008 calendar year (special rules apply - see card).

COISC Banner Sales (Travel Teams Only) The Central Oregon Indoor Sports Center is the new home of Oregon Volleyball Academy. However, the COISC is also home to hockey teams, roller derby teams/events, bootcamp training, and many members who enjoy year-round open skate. With so many people going to the COISC, this is a great avenue for businesses to advertise. OVA has partnered with COISC to offer banner sales as one of our main fundraisers. Banners come in 3 sizes ranging from $500-$900. 40% of the sales go straight to the player's account, while the remaining percentage goes to the COISC and cost of the banner. Businesses that purchase a banner are essentially sponsoring a player, all the while receiving exposure to a wide-range of locals which demonstrates their undying community support! Team Fundraiser (Suggested for Travel Teams) We suggest that every travel team do a fundraiser together as a group (i.e. Carwash, Baja Fresh, Bake Sale, etc.). The fundraiser must be approved by your coach. This is a good chance to use your creativity, organizational skills, effective communication and people-skills...all the while making money and bonding with your teammates! The money raised will be used for your team - the coach will decide the best way to spend it (i.e. team bonding event, food, vball gear, stipend, travel costs, etc.).

Raffle Tickets - Reno Volleyball Festival (15-18u Travel Teams Only) Sell raffle tickets for a drawing to be held at the Volleyball Festival. There will be several drawings throughout the event for Cash Prizes (two $500, four $250, and ten $100 awards). Raffle tickets cost $5 each and money goes straight to the player/family to help with traveling costs. A person does NOT need to be present to win the drawing, but will be contacted by the Festival from the information on the ticket stub. Want to participate in this fundraiser? Your team must be playing in the Reno Volleyball-Festival with OVA. Raffle Tickets are now available. You have until June 24th to sell as many raffle tickets as possible. Corporate Sponsorship Do you know of a business that would be willing to show their support by making a monetary donation to the club? If so, please help us in obtaining Corporate Sponsors. All donations will help contribute to costs not included as part of the player dues, such as training equipment, special club events, banquets & awards, scholarship fund, travel costs and more.
