Emily began her volleyball career in San Diego having played at acclaimed Coast Volleyball Club. During her junior years, Emily contributed to 2nd and 3rd place finishes at both the Davis Volleyball Festival (now Reno) and Junior Olympics, earning All-American honors as an outside hitter. Her successful club career led to her recruitment at Pepperdine University, where she played under head coach Nina Matthies (Beach Legend) and Tim Jensen.
While at Pepperdine, her team consistently finished at the top of their conference (West Coast Conference), made several NCAA Sweet Sixteen appearances, and ranked as high as 5th place in national polls. For the past two years Emily has coached alongside husband JJ Riley, both at Summit High School and Oregon Suns Volleyball Club. At Oregon Volleyball Academy, Emily will be Assistant Coach to JJ and act as Assistant Director, helping to ensure that club operations run smoothly. |
